Rapid eye movement (REM) sleep behavior disorder (RBD) is a sleep disorder in which a person physically acts out their dreams during REM sleep, resulting in potentially dangerous or injurious movements or behaviors. Symptoms of RBD may include kicking, flailing, shouting, or punching during sleep, and may pose a risk to the person or bed partner. Treatment for RBD may involve lifestyle changes, medication, or other therapies to manage symptoms and reduce the risk of injury.
