Kleine-Levin syndrome, also known as hypersomnia or "Sleeping Beauty syndrome," is a rare sleep disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of excessive sleepiness that can last for several days or weeks. During these episodes, individuals with Kleine-Levin syndrome may sleep for 20 hours or more per day, and may also experience changes in appetite, behavior, and mood. The exact cause of Kleine-Levin syndrome is unknown, and there is currently no cure for the condition. Treatment typically involves managing symptoms and providing support for individuals affected by the disorder.
