Confusional arousals Confusional arousals are a type of parasomnia characterized by confusion, disorientation, and sometimes agitated behavior upon awakening from sleep. Confusional arousals can be related to underlying sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea, and may result in disrupted sleep for both the individual and their bed partner.
