Delayed sleep phase disorder (DSPD) is a circadian rhythm sleep disorder characterized by a delay in the timing of the individual's circadian rhythm, causing difficulty falling asleep and waking up in the morning. Dspd can result in insomnia, excessive daytime sleepiness, and difficulty functioning during traditional waking hours.
